Ms. Neyata Jones received the “Shining Star of Special Education”. With over 20 incredible years of service, Ms. Jones has made a profound impact in the world of Special Education. Her dedication and passion truly embody this year’s powerful theme, “Women in Education: Behind and Beyond the Classroom”. We are beyond excited to celebrate her inspiring journey and recognize the lasting difference she continues to make in the lives of her students.
Ms. Vernice “Sandy” Frazier, who has dedicated an incredible 29 years as a beloved school lunch aide was recognized with the Spirit of Service Award. Ms. Sandy’s unwavering service, love, and kindness have left an indelible mark on the children, staff, and the greater school community. Ms. Sandy’s thoughtful gestures—whether bringing food, gifts, or goody bags—show the depth of her care, making everyone around her feel seen, valued, and cherished. She’s created a sense of warmth and connection that goes far beyond her role, turning moments into memories for all. Not only has Ms. Sandy made an impact at school, but her family knows her as an incredible mother and grandmother, always there with open arms and endless love.
Lastly, the late Shalanda Goodman, who was a beacon of kindness, courage, and compassion was honored as a Community Shereo. Shalanda’s dedication to her work as a crossing guard, her role as a mother, grandmother, and the love she shared with her community are part of the remarkable legacy she leaves behind. Her love was felt by anyone fortunate enough to know her.
